"Jump! Dance! Play! Dream!" is inspired by the nexus of art, movement, expression, and outside spaces. The creative process overlaps so much with play – it’s messy and expressive and sometimes chaotic, but it’s an essential (and often overlooked) part of the human experience. I hope also that people will be inspired to jump with the character in the mural and take pictures of themselves interacting with the artwork.
I am an interdisciplinary artist, immersive experience designer, educator, and researcher currently based in Michigan.
My research focuses are immersive, experiential pedagogy and sensory storytelling. I’m investigating how we learn through all our senses, and I’m especially interested in haptics/tactility, proxemics, motion, and peripheral vision… all building on my background in experimental animation, drawing, visual music, and video design.
I have a BFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts (2012), and I designed and performed as a VJ and video designer in Estonia, including Tallinn Music Week (2013 and 2014), Estonian Music Days (2013), and Stalker Festival (2014), and in the US at venues including REDCAT and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California.
As an Imagineer (2014-2021), I was a Video Media Designer/VFX Designer with a focus on projection mapping and technical video integration (including in-field installation) for attractions in the US, Hong Kong, and Japan. I also worked as a conceptual SFX designer on an in-development attraction for Japan.
